No theme or medium is imposed. It is however important to think of the venue in Flers as a time of encounter with an environment, a town, and a population. In the last few years, the main theme announced to the artists concerned was "urbanism and/or cultural mixedness". This remains on the books insofar as 2 angles is keen to continue the exchanges already made with local associations, and regional institutions and businesses.

3 bis f

Since 1983, 3 bis f, located in the Psychiatric Hospital Montperrin, developing a place of contemporary works both in the field of performing arts in the visual arts in its art center. Each year, over varying time scales ranging from weeks to months, artists and companies are invited to propose and develop projects as part of research residencies or creative for the site. Several moments of meetings with current residences are available and open to all public (collective practice workshops, discussions with artists, visits - creations - representations - exhibitions).

AFIAC

The international programme of residencies initiated by art3, focusing on research and production, supports artists hailing from the Rhône-Alpes region by giving them a chance to reside abroad (Germany, Canada, Spain, Italy) for a three-month period. Based on exchange and inter-regional cooperation, art3 takes in a foreign artist for the same period. The brief of these residencies is to encourage artists' mobility and to facilitate knowledge and relations with the artistic reality of each territory. art3 is based on a network of structures abroad involved in these exchanges, which pool their competence to accompany artists' research at home and abroad.

Artistes en résidence

The project of the artists-in-residence began in May 2011, aims at accommodating visual artists by providing them with a work place, accommodation and financial assistance.
The two main goals are research (studio work) and exchange (among different actors of the contemporary art). The curatorial space of the residency named "Permanence" can be used by each resident if need be.

Centre d'art contemporain de Pontmain

Depuis 1999, et au rythme de trois expositions par an, le centre d’art mène une politique de diffusion de l’art contemporain grâce à des expositions personnelles et collectives. Sur trois niveaux, le centre d’art dégage un espace d’exposition de 150 m2, mais aussi des espaces de travail et des logements.

Ainsi, l’accueil en résidence de deux à trois artistes sur une période d’un mois à un mois et demi, est l’une des missions prioritaires du centre d’art et se renouvelle chaque année depuis mai 2000. Ce dispositif qui favorise la création d’œuvres originales est aussi l’occasion de multiplier les rencontres et les échanges avec le public.

The Centre Photographique d’Île-de-France (CPIF) was created in 1989.

The CPIF is part of the nationwide network of contemporary art centers. It is dedicated to research, production and promotion of artistic projects linked to contemporary photography. It follows acknowledged as well as emerging practices, traditional forms together with forms derived from digital technology and new media, relations between photography and other fields of contemporary creation.

Finis Terræ

À l’extrémité ouest de l’île, le sémaphore du Créac’h, situé au pied d’un phare emblématique et du musée des Phares et Balises a veillé sur les marins et les bateaux pendant des décennies. Aujourd’hui, après de bons et loyaux services, il est comme on dit dans le langage de la Marine, «désarmé». Mais devenu propriété du Conseil général du Finistère, il a retrouvé une nouvelle vie. Ce sémaphore a en effet été «réarmé» comme résidence d’artistes à l’initiative du Conseil général du Finistère, en relation étroite avec la Mairie de Ouessant.

L'attrape-couleurs is an associative venue for exhibiting contemporary art, founded in 2000.
With five to seven exhibitions a year, this art centre presents every type of artistic activity (photos, paintings, installations, drawings...), by way of solo and group shows.
Since 2009, L'attrape-couleurs has been accommodating artists in residence.

La Forêt d'art contemporain

Pollen

Since 1991, Pollen has been welcoming young artists of all nationalites, enabling them to realize a specific project or else to pursue personal research. Pollen is neither an art school nor an art centre, but a platform for communication, exchange and experimentation, propitious to the development and fruition of a creative piece of work.
Pollen offers young artists the support required for this to take place. In addition to exposure in the official contemporary art network, artists will also be able to benefit from inter action with the community and territory of the Lot-et Garonne.

Hors Les Murs is the international mobility programme of the Institut Français, aimed at French artists and culture professionals who wish to travel abroad to develop a specific project in a country of their choice. The programme is open to proposals from artists in a wide range of artistic disciplines. They must be either of French nationality or resident in France for at least 5 years.

Résidence [43.5]

La Résidence [43.5] a été créée à Aix-en-Provence, à l’initiative de Michèle Cohen, directrice de LA NON-MAISON, avec le soutien de la Fondation Almayuda, afin de participer au développement de l’art contemporain et favoriser les rencontres. Ouverte en Janvier 2011 elle est depuis parrainée par Bernard Marcadé, Bartomeu Mari et Bernard Plossu. Elle accueille des artistes internationaux (plasticiens, photographes, vidéastes, commissaires d’expositions, critiques d’art, réalisateurs), pendant une période de trois mois, à raison de trois résidences par an d’octobre à juin.

Villa Médicis

The historical mission of the French Academy in Rome (known as "Mission Colbert") is to be a residency for fellows (known as "pensionnaires"). Since the XVIIth century, it has hosted artists and scholars, in order to allow them to pursue their work, studies and research. The French Academy in Rome has hosted the greatest French artists and architects of the past.
It is now internationally open to all fields of literary and artistic creation, history of art as well as works of art and monuments restoration.

Villa-Arson
